September 26-30, 2017

The 7th annual Detroit Design Festival is a citywide celebration of design and creativity that takes place September 26-30, 2017.

In honor of Detroit’s designation of the first and only UNESCO City of Design in the United States, festival programming & events will explore the various ways design is shaping the way we live & work. From the workplace to the built environment, thoughtful design can impact and even change the way we experience the world around us.

"PUBLIC BY DESIGN"

Thursday, September 28, 2017, 6-8pm

Eastern Market, Detroit

Hosted by Urban Consulate & Next City

Thanks to support from Knight Foundation

Free & open to the public

Design is like democracy: The more citizens participating, the stronger our communities will be. So what are some creative ways to open the door & invite more people in? Join us before Eastern Market After Dark to hear from Philadelphians putting the "public" back in public space. From street art to sidewalk benches, parking spots & playgrounds, let's share ideas for cities shaped by citizens.
